The Greatest Commandment
When the teachers of the law asked Jesus, “Which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”, they were trying to trick Jesus, trying to find some way to bring him down. However, Jesus responds in a way that makes everyone astonished. Jesus tells them, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and love your neighbors as yourself.”
What God wants most from us is to love God and to love each other. Not a sentimental kind of love, but the kind of love that seeks the best of each other, and putting others before yourself. The love that makes us serve each other.
During this Season of Lent, let us deeply think about God’s love towards us, and let us strive to love God and love others as God loves us.
