The Promise Takes an Unexpected Twist
God’s calling to Abraham began with a great promise: that God would bless Abraham so that the nations would be blessed through him. A big part of this promise was the promise of children and offspring.
But more than 10 years had passed, and Abraham and Sarah were still childless.
What happens when a promise we’ve built our lives on doesn’t come to fruition? How do we respond?
A big conflict arose from the anxieties of an unfulfilled promise. People suffered from the conflict. Yet somehow God was still present.
There is a lot to reflect on from this story and passage. Please enjoy and reflect!
