Sunday August 1 marked the official re-opening of the church for all members of the congregation. We celebrated together with our Annual ESM Picnic, this year at church! Everyone was invited to worship together, and we enjoyed a hot and delicious meal of souvlaki, meatballs, salads, fruits and desserts!
Although the day started off gloomy and rainy, the members of our community worked together to set up for a day of fellowship, rain or shine. Somehow the rain cleared up just in time for the picnic, and we experienced wonderful weather for a splendid picnic and time of unity!
We thank God for this blessed time we had. We would like to thank everyone for contributing to this special day! A special thanks to Jisook Kyun and John Chung who graciously provided the chicken souvlaki for everyone! That is a generosity that inspires. We also thank our Elders and interns for their leadership, and in particular, Veronica Park and Lauren Lee for overseeing the whole effort.
We are blessed with a wonderful community. We pray that our unity may be an antidote for disunity in the world around us.
Let us continue to strive for unity in our midst and pray for our upcoming month of August which will be packed with BBQs!
