Important notice regarding COVID-19.
These have been trying times for the world. Our prayers are for peace and the health of everyone. We take comfort in the fact that the “risk to Ontarians is still considered low.” (Public Health Ontario)
However, the public health authorities have called on everyone to do their part to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Therefore, the Session has decided to cancel the in-person worship service for this Sunday, March 15.
That means that the worship service, Sunday school programs, and any in-person activity is cancelled for this Sunday.
We will be recording a bilingual service at church this Sunday and sending it to everyone to use for personal worship. We will monitor and assess the situation closely and make further decisions regarding the following weeks to come. Alternatives may include livestreaming services and/or resuming in-person services with proper precautions.
This is an unprecedented step for an unprecedented situation. We are not in panic or fear. We are rather participating in a national movement to curb this virus.
We ask that you pray for peace and calm to in our society. There is too much fear. There is too much anxiety. May God give us the Spirit of peace.
We will be reflecting on other ways to come together as a community. In the meantime, we will be in regular communication with you via email regarding next steps as we closely monitor developments.
Thank you and may God bless you.
Sincerely,
Simon
