Faith and Suffering
For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. I walk before the Lord in the land of the living. I kept my faith, even when I said, ‘I am greatly afflicted’.– Psalm 116.8-10
Memory Verse: “I kept my faith, even when I said, ‘I am greatly afflicted’” (Psalm 116.10)
Having faith does not necessarily keep me from suffering. The real faith is to believe even when we are afflicted. That faith will heal us from our pain. Our suffering will become compassion and our sorrow will become our empathy to grieve with those who grieve.Lord, help me to hold onto my faith even when I am afflicted. Amen.
