Faithful God,
We are here to worship you. We are here to praise you and we are here to give our neverending thanksgiving for the immeasurable sacrifice of your son, Jesus Christ. His death to cleanse our sins and his resurrection so that we may rise and live freely. How wonderful is your Grace.
We have so much to pray for these days: from seeking your wisdom and protection in reopening our churches and our schools. We ask that You continue to be with St Andrews Humber Heights as they prepare to reopen, removing obstacles, giving Rev Paulette and the leaders the spiritual guidance to lead their congregation. We do so prayerfully for both our churches and all churches to make our worship meaningful in order to become a more spiritual community. With the school reopenings, we ask you to be with all our students, teachers and parents to overcome differences and problems to be unified in providing a safe, learning environment while forming bonds of friendship.
There is so much ill around us. It is still a time of much fear, division and violence. We ask for your spirit of calmness, gentleness to curb these anxieties and struggles to lift up one another. Guide us and equip us with not our righteousness but your righteousness so that your justice and peace may rein.
We also pray for the ongoing fires in the Northwest US to cease and the safety of the firefighters and the people whose homes are ruined or in danger. Forgive us for failing to have dominion of this land to protect all that you have created. Help us to be more mindful in how we affect our environment whether it be the lands, animals or others around us. May we be a sacrifice for one another in forgiveness and mercy as it is written in today’s scripture. Help us to meditate on these words, to reflect on the message delivered by your servant Rev Kim with the purpose of living the path of the Cross. Fortify our ministers & pastors with the Holy spirit to endure the tough times while filling them with the overflowing joy answering your Call.
We ask for your blessings upon this worship service.
All this we pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen
