Dear heavenly Father,
We thank you for bringing us together this Sunday morning for this precious time of Worship and Praise. In the midst of this global pandemic and the uncertainty we face, we trust and find hope in you. We thank you for keeping us safe, overlooking our re-opening plans, and for gradually bringing back parts of in-person interaction. We are so grateful and happy to be together this morning. Our 2020 theme at St TImothy is “Becoming Together”. It has been an important reminder about the strength, power and value of community. Covid-19 is reminding us daily that life is not in our control. We face concerns with our health, finances, studies, careers, relationships. Disasters such as the explosion in Lebanon, damage from hurricanes, climate change, injustice and unrest from systemic racism are overwhelming us. We ask for your faith to help respond with your Love and Grace. During these times, help us seek out and turn to you. Open our eyes to the needs around us. Grant us your Peace which leads to Hope. Be with our leaders and provide them with your wisdom through all these challenges.
Thank you for the blessing of worshiping together: St Timothy and St Andrews Humber Heights. Coming from diverse backgrounds and experiences, we thank you for the opportunity to learn from each other and inspire each other through our stories of Faith. Although different, we share the desire to search for your truth, freedom and power. We all face the same experiences of helplessness and hopelessness. We require your grace and mercy and ask for confidence that comes from knowing we are all your children.
Today we are celebrating Graduation Sunday. We thank you for our graduating students. We thank you for your faithful presence in their lives…and for being with them as they transition from one chapter to the next in their lives. We thank you for being with them along their journey. Help us continue to support them as you reveal your plan and purpose and potential in their lives.
Continue to be with our worship this morning. Help us reflect as we hear your message through your servant Rev Simon about “The Hand That Saves”. Challenge us with your Word. Reveal your truth to us. Give us the power and will to change and to live out true, meaningful and authentic lives that you so desire for us.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
