Dear God,
Thank you for this wonderful community of St Timothy’s. We come before you Lord today to worship you, and give you thanks for the safety of our church as we continue our phased re-opening, and in person attendance. Lord as we continue to manage through this pandemic, let us be reminded of the importance and significance of our worship service, and what it means to have a meaningful relationship with you and our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Lord as we continue to manage our hybrid model, we pray that in-person worship can continue with all safety measures in place, and for those that worship online that they continue to have fruitful experiences. Worship is at the centre of everything, so please keep us accountable and connected with you Lord and with one another. Lord we have witnessed challenges of all sorts this year, but let us be strong and resilient in the face of adversity, and Lord prepare ourselves for managing through this together.
Lord, we have also witnessed many new blessings this year with the birth of so many new children, please be with them and the parents as they experience the joy of new beginnings and give the parents strength and endurance during this time. Lord, we also have so many of our children that have returned to school, and our older children that have returned to university. With the rising numbers we are seeing in the schools and universities, we ask that you please watch over them, keep them safe and healthy, and vigilant. Lord please also bless our various ongoing ministries as well, our weekly bible studies, our mens and women’s groups, our young families, college and HI-C, and children’s ministries, the choir and also the praise team.
Lord this year is also a transitional year for our church leadership as we say thank you to our exiting session members that have served so faithfully to you and the church, and look to elect new session members to continue to work with the pastoral staff to guide our church forward in the coming years. Lord as we seek and pray about this process, we ask that you guide us and also ask for discernment during the elder election process. Please also speak to the hearts of those that may be thinking about eldership, and also give them the discernment and clarity that they need as well.
We also pray for the continued hard work and dedication of our pastoral staff, as they serve you so diligently, work so hard and sacrifice so much for all of us. We thank you for their caring hearts, and leadership.
Lord, be with the community of St Tims and bless this community.
Lord, we’re reminded of how you led your people through the desert to the Promised Land, so Lord we trust in you and know that we are taking this journey together with you.
Let us find strength among each other, let us be comforted by one another, and let us lift each other up during times of need, while by your side.
We thank you, and pray all these things in Jesus’ name,
Amen.
