Blessed by the beautiful weather, our ESM congregation enjoyed an action-packed day out in the sun at our annual Civic Holiday Picnic! We had a great time of intergenerational fellowship, sharing delicious food and participating in fun activities. Here are some of the highlights of the day!
While the burgers and hot dogs were cooking on the grill, the kids wasted no time in getting to our first activity of the day: an impromptu Kids Church race extravaganza! The atmosphere was buzzing with energy as the young ones lined up to test who is the fastest of them all! Though it appears as if Jonathan won, everyone is still a winner in our hearts!
The exhilaration from the race brought everyone’s appetites to a peak! Thankfully, it was finally time for lunch. As the smell of grilled meat emanated through the air, people eagerly began to line up with plates in hand. Thank you to everyone who graciously provided food and drinks, as well as Pastor James, Reverend Chung and Josh Chung for manning the barbeque!
After a delicious meal, what’s better than taking a dip in the pool? One of the main attractions at Simeon Park is the outdoor swimming pool! As the children splashed around, many watched along the sidelines, cooling off with their feet in the water. Even some of the babies were floating around under the watchful eyes of their parents. What a great way to cap off the day!
Though the day has come to a close, we will still cherish the memories made and the laughs shared. Thank you to everyone who came out, and to those who could not make it, we hope to see you there next year!
