The Young Family Fellowship is a special part of our St Timothy Community. Helen and I had the opportunity to host the monthly meeting in October and since it happened to land on Halloween, we were able to have a little fun as well.
There was an amazing spread of food. Howard’s french toast (brioche) stuffed with banana and maple syrup was quite the hit. I ate Grace’s shakshuka, eggs braised/poached in a tomato sauce, for days after the party…that meal kept on multiplying…sort of like the 2 loaves of bread and 5 fish that fed the multitude.
Helen and I enjoyed getting to know the new babies and toddlers at our church.
Thanks to Jane for leading us in a summary of Tori Smit’s presentation on Parenting and Passing On Your Faith to Your Children. Most of the young parents were unable to attend Tori’s session so it was a good recap. We had a good discussion on parenting styles and family traditions/rituals that promote raising children who will be more apt to have stronger faith and resiliency as they grow up and face challenges in life.
Congrats to Nathan who won the best costume! So creative! Notice the lightning bolts and black cloud above his head.
Katelyn was napping in the car, so we missed her in the picture, but here’s a picture of the piggy costume she despised and the Snow White costume, she loved!
