Wisdom That Is Near Us

Wisdom cries out in the street; in the squares she raises her voice. At the busiest corner she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: ‘How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?

–  Proverbs 1:20-22

Memory Verse: “‘How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?” (Proverbs 1:22)

The wisdom is not hidden in secret. We don’t need special skills to understand the wisdom. It is always near us. Our pride and arrogance prevent us from having the wisdom. Our pride makes us become like fools and fools hate knowledge that we all need.

Lord, help me to seek Your wisdom with a humble heart. Amen.

가까이 있는 지혜

지혜가 길거리에서 부르며 광장에서 소리를 높이며 시끄러운 길목에서 소리를 지르며 성문 어귀와 성중에서 그 소리를 발하여 이르되 너희 어리석은 자들은 어리석음을 좋아하며 거만한 자들은 거만을 기뻐하며 미련한 자들은 지식을 미워하니 어느 때까지 하겠느냐.

–     잠언 1:20-22

암송구절: “너희 어리석은 자들은 어리석음을 좋아하며 거만한 자들은 거만을 기뻐하며 미련한 자들은 지식을 미워하니 어느 때까지 하겠느냐.” (잠언 1:22)

지혜는 비밀 속에 숨겨져 있는 것이 아니다. 특별한 능력이 있어야 깨닫는 것이 아니다. 지혜는 늘 우리와 가까이 있다. 우리가 지혜를 갖지 못하는 것은 우리의 교만함 때문이다. 교만함은 우리를 미련하게 만든다. 우리에게 진정으로 필요한 지식을 미워한다.

주님, 겸손함으로 주님의 지혜를 찾게 하소서. 아멘.
