Whether To Live or To Die

It is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be put to shame in any way, but that by my speaking with all boldness, Christ will be exalted now as always in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain.

–        Philippians 1:20-21

 

Memory Verse: “For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain.” (Philippians 1:21)

To some people, to live or to die is the most important question. But to some, the most important question is whether Christ is exalted. St. Paul belongs to the latter. What is the most important to us?

 

Lord, may You be exalted in my life. Amen.

살든지 죽든지

나의 간절한 기대와 소망을 따라 아무 일에든지 부끄러워하지 아니하고 지금도 전과 같이 온전히 담대하여 살든지 죽든지 내 몸에서 그리스도가 존귀하게 되게 하려 하나니 이는 내게 사는 것이 그리스도니 죽는 것도 유익함이라.

–     빌립보서 1:20-21

 

암송구절: “이는 내게 사는 것이 그리스도니 죽는 것도 유익함이라.” (빌립보서 1:21)

어떤 사람에게는 살고 죽는 것이 가장 중요하다. 그러나 또 어떤 사람에게는 그리스도가 존귀하게 되는 것이 가장 중요하다. 바울 사도에게는 그리스도가 존귀하게 되는 것이 가장 중요했다. 우리에게는 무엇이 가장 중요한가?

 

주님, 나의 삶에서 주님이 존귀케 되기를 바랍니다. 아멘.
