Law and Faith

Now before faith came, we were imprisoned and guarded under the law until faith would be revealed. Therefore the law was our disciplinarian until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian.

–       Galatians 3:23-25

Memory Verse: “But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian.” (Galatians 3:25)

The law shows us what is right and wrong. But the law does not have the power to make us righteous. That power is in God’s grace. Through God’s grace, we experience the fruit of righteousness; that is, joy, peace and love. Our faith makes it possible for us to experience the power of God’s grace. 

Lord, help me to experience the power of Your grace through faith. Amen.

율법과 믿음

믿음이 오기 전에 우리는 율법 아래에 매인 바 되고 계시될 믿음의 때까지 갇혔느니라. 이같이 율법이 우리를 그리스도께로 인도하는 초등교사가 되어 우리로 하여금 믿음으로 말미암아 의롭다 함을 얻게 하려 함이라. 믿음이 온 후로는 우리가 초등교사 아래에 있지 아니하도다.

–     갈라디아서 3:23-25

암송구절: “믿음이 온 후로는 우리가 초등교사 아래에 있지 아니하도다.” (갈라디아서 3:25)

율법은 우리에게 옳고 그른 것을 보여준다. 그러나 율법이 우리를 의롭게 하는 힘을 갖고 있지는 않다. 그 힘은 하나님의 은혜 속에 있다. 하나님의 은혜를 통해 우리는 의의 열매를 경험하게 된다: 기쁨, 평화, 사랑. 우리의 믿음으로 말미암아 우리는 그 하나님의 은혜의 힘을 경험하게 된다.

주님, 믿음으로 하나님의 은혜의 힘을 경험하게 하소서. 아멘.
