God’s Anger and Favor

Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment; his favour is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

–     Psalm 30:4-5

Memory Verse: “For his anger is but for a moment; his favour is for a lifetime.” (Psalm 30:5)

People are scared of God. Being scared and having fear are two different things. Yes, sometimes God is angry with us and that’s why we are afraid of God. But God’s anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. We may be sad today but joy will come tomorrow. God will turn our mourning into dancing.

Lord, help me to know you more deeply. Amen.

주의 노염과 은총

주의 성도들아 여호와를 찬송하며 그의 거룩함을 기억하며 감사하라. 그의 노염은 잠깐이요 그의 은총은 평생이로다 저녁에는 울음이 깃들일지라도 아침에는 기쁨이 오리로다.

–     시편 30:4-5

암송구절: “그의 (여호와의) 노염은 잠깐이요 그의 은총은 평생이로다.” (시편 30:5) 

사람들은 하나님을 무서워 한다. 무서워 하는 것과 두려워 하는 것은 다르다. 물론, 하나님께서 노여워 하실 때가 있다. 그것이 우리를 하나님을 무서워하게 하는 것이다. 그러나 하나님의 노염은 잠깐이요 그의 은총은 평생이다. 오늘 슬퍼 울지라도 내일은 기쁨이 찾아올 것이다. 하나님께서 우리의 슬픔을 변하여 춤이 되게 할 것이다.

주님, 주님을 더욱 깊이 알게 하소서. 아멘.
