The Fruit of the Spirit and Vain Conceit

By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, competing against one another, envying one another.

–       Galatians 5:22-26

Memory Verse: “Let us not become conceited, competing against one another, envying one another.” (Galatians 5:26)

The fruit is not for us . The fruit is for others. The fruit of the Spirit is not for one’s vain conceit. The fruit of the Spirit is to benefit others. Let us get rid of our vain conceit and be filled with the Spirit. Our life will bear the abundant fruit.

Lord, fill me with Your Spirit. Amen.

성령의 열매와 헛된 영광

오직 성령의 열매는 사랑과 희락과 화평과 오래 참음과 자비와 양선과 충성과 온유와 절제니 이같은 것을 금지할 법이 없느니라. 그리스도 예수의 사람들은 육체와 함께 그 정욕과 탐심을 십자가에 못 박았느니라. 만일 우리가 성령으로 살면 또한 성령으로 행할지니 헛된 영광을 구하여 서로 노엽게 하거나 서로 투기하지 말지니라.

열매는 나를 위한 것이 아니다. 열매는 다른 사람을 위한 것이다. 성령의 열매는 헛된 영광을 위한 것이 아니다. 성령의 열매는 다른 사람들에게 혜택을 주기 위한 것이다. 헛된 영광을 버리고 성령에 충만한 삶을 살자. 삶의 열매가 풍성하게 열릴 것이다.

주님, 성령의 충만함을 허락하소서. 아멘.
