Confession of Our Sins
Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Happy are those to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. While I kept silence, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord’, and you forgave the guilt of my sin.
– Psalm 32:1-5
Memory Verse: “Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” (Psalm 32:1)
We have to be honest before God. We should not hide our sins from God. We have to expose what’s deep in our heart to God. Then God will forgive us and cover our sins with His grace.
Thank you, Lord, for loving me, knowing who I am. Help me not to go away from you because of my sins. Amen.
Blessing and Woe
Then he looked up at his disciples and said: ‘Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. ‘Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled. ‘Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. ‘Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice on that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets.
‘But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. ‘Woe to you who are full now, for you will be hungry. ‘Woe to you who are laughing now, for you will mourn and weep. ‘Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.
– Luke 6:20-26
Memory Verse: “Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” (Psalm 32:1) (Same as yesterday)
Blessed people are those who are poor, hungry, weep, and are hated. But woe to those who are rich, full, laughing, and are well liked. This is the very opposite of our concept of blessing and woe. Blessed people are those who are eagerly seeking God. Woe to those who live with the entitlement attitude, taking everything for granted.
Lord, help me seek You daily with thanksgiving for everything you have done for me. Amen.
