A Big Family

Then his mother and his brothers came; and standing outside, they sent to him and called him. A crowd was sitting around him; and they said to him, ‘Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, asking for you.’ And he replied, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And looking at those who sat around him, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.’

–       Mark 3:20-22, 28-30

Memory Verse: “Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mark 3:35)

Jesus did not define a family by the blood they shared. Whoever does the will of God is our brother and sister and mother. As we take care of our blood family, let us take care of each other’s suffering and pain. In Christ, we are all one family.

Lord, thank you for giving me a big family. Amen.

그 때에 예수의 어머니와 동생들이 와서 밖에 서서 사람을 보내어 예수를 부르니 무리가 예수를 둘러 앉았다가 여짜오되 보소서 당신의 어머니와 동생들과 누이들이 밖에서 찾나이다.대답하시되 누가 내 어머니이며 동생들이냐 하시고 둘러 앉은 자들을 보시며 이르시되 내 어머니와 내 동생들을 보라.누구든지 하나님의 뜻대로 행하는 자가 내 형제요 자매요 어머니이니라.

암송구절: “누구든지 하나님의 뜻대로 행하는 자가 내 형제요 자매요 어머니이니라.”(마가복음 3:35)

예수님은 핏줄로 가족을 이해하지 않았다. 하나님의 뜻을 이루기 위해 사는 우리 모두가 다 형제이고 자매이고 어머니이다.가족을 돌보는 것처럼 서로 서로의 아픔을 돌보자. 예수 안에서 우리는 모두 한 가족이다.

주여, 큰 가족을 주셔서 감사합니다. 아멘.
