Being Connected To God

For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, so that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

–       Romans 8:3-4

The law makes us aware of our sins but it cannot help us because our will power is weak.

If our will power is the only power, then we have no hope. We have another power that is working in us and that is the power of the Spirit. The power of the Spirit is the power that we have when we are connected to God. Even though we are weak, when we are connected to God, the sin cannot control us to be its slaves.

Lord, help me to abide in you. Help me to have hope and the strength in you. Release me from the power of sin. Amen

하나님과 연결되어 있는 삶

율법이 육신으로 말미암아 연약하여 할 수 없는 그것을 하나님은 하시나니 곧 죄로 말미암아 자기 아들을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내어 육신에 죄를 정하사 육신을 따르지 않고 그 영을 따라 행하는 우리에게 율법의 요구가 이루어지게 하려 하심이니라.

–       로마서 8:3-4

율법은 우리로 하여금 죄를 깨닫게 하지만 우리의 죄를 도와줄 수는 없다. 그 이유는 우리의 의지가 연약하기 때문이다.

나의 의지만이 내가 갖고 있는 오직 힘이라면 우리에게는 소망이 없다. 우리가 갖고 있는 또 하나의 힘은 영적인 힘이다. 영적인 힘이라고 하는 것은 우리가 하나님과 연결되어 있을 때 나오는 힘을 말한다. 나는 연약하지만 내가 하나님과 연결되어 있을 때, 이제 더 이상 죄가 우리를 주장하지 못한다.

주님, 주님 안에 거하게 하소서. 주님 안에서 새로운 힘과 소망을 갖게 하소서. 죄의 묶임에서 벗어나게 하소서. 아멘.
